Do you really think the STI will come FULLY loaded under 30k?
I have a deposit on a EVO and you all know the features and specs..Its base is 28987. Is it really realistic to think that the STI will come with 300hp, DCCD...and all the other goodies for 30k whereas the EVO comes with less HP no AYC/ACD for 29k?? Just curious...
how much is the evo 8? when i was interested, the cheapest i was gonna get it for was $37K, which is BS in my opinion, since i heard it wasn't gonna come iwth an active diffy.

Sti is $32k with everything standard sans radio..Evo is $29 and they will not be able to ask more than MSRP--at least not when the Sti comes out...
as i have posted elsewhere even Mitsubishi thinks they are screwed..they dont have a 2.5l engine (the critical difference)--even if they could add all the tech goodies for next year Evo will still lack big time on low end torque

The Evo lack torque? Never had that experience with an Evo before. Been in alot of WRXs that had no low end power.

Where were you when Subaru announced the 2.5L STI with 300bhp @ 6000 rpm and 300 lbs/ft @ 4000 rpm
The US Evo's bhp and torque are much lower that the Japanese market car. This is because the Japanese Evo, although listed at 280bhp, actually produces around 300-320. So the answer is YES, the US STI will outpower and outtorque the US EVO bigtime!

I apologize..the Evo does have more low end than the "old" or non US Sti...i was speaking relatively
SuperMugen:
I dont know prices for the "Sti moron" but....Let me explain---I was at the Detroit Auto Show and talked to Subie officials who stated that MSRP will be just south of $32k (approx 30% greater than WRX which has approx $24k MSRP)...in case you wonder aloud again I work in the industry and have access to officials and see the show with the press before the general public...there was one "show assistant"(hired help) who initially said $35k but the subie man corrected and was very firm...of course if people like you start walking to the dealer and saying the car is too cheap they just might raise prices...also if you call your local subie dealer and talk to the manager i believe they should be able to confirm it
