Did I not understand Car & Driver's review?
Was it just me, or did you feel that Car & Driver was nit-picking with their STi review?
Why didn't they like the Limited Slip Front Diff? How do you STi owners feel about it?
I don't know about anyone else around here but I would rather push an STi then drive an EVO!
Did anyone read Road & Track's review?
Comments on this please.

Of course you will think its nit-picking if they side with the Evo over the Sti but keep in mind they arent the only ones. So far Car and Driver, Road and Track, Motor Trend and Sport Compact Car have all picked the Evo over the Sti. In my opinion it all comes down to what each driver wants. In my opinion for autocrossing or carving through windy country roads the Evo is the clear choice. If you want a better all around street car with much more torque and in my opinion what will be superior reliability than go with the Sti. Lets just all be happy that these two great cars are finally here and stop all the trash talking.
Well if I remember corectly all of the mags said that the STI wasn't far behind. They was almost neck and neck expect for like one or two things. I think we shouldn't judge and wait for the mods and WRC rally and then decide. Evyone ones the EVO is "easier" to dirve, what ever that means. Me being a Subaru owner Iguess that means EVO's are for children. : -)
Just a little mud slinging.

The Evo's engines have a venerable record with that turbocharged engine????? It is the same basic engine that was in the Eagle Talon/Eclipse cars. Although those engines can be built to make some serious power they had a lot of reliability problems. The transfer cases and tranny's were a very big problem as well. I am not saying that the Evo will have these same problems but only time will tell. Subaru historically has had a much better reliability record than Mitsubishi and there all wheel drive systems have always been rated at the top. That was my thinking when I made my statement that I think that the Subaru will ultimately have better realiability than the Evo.

the 2.5 is not wrc legal. ove the next couple of years most subys will be available with the 2.5 turbo in various forms. the wrx wil keep the 2.0 turbo to meet wrc homologation requirements.
i personally think that car magazines should take a hint from the bike magazines and put the same tires on all cars in a comparison test. include stock tire numbers so that people know what off the lot performance will be like. i have run 3 different sets of tires on my vr6 jetta autox car and have seen huge differences in performance. also, the sti has much more room for improvement than the evolution. with some cash invested you can make either of them handle and brake the way you want. imagine the sti cranked up to 19psi boost.
