Car and Driver review

I just got my new C&D today. It was great seeing the STI on the cover. While the reviewers rate the STI second to the Evo, I read carefully where they thought the Evo was better. Namely in track events due to quicker handling and less overstear.

While I would like to think that I will race my STI in local autocrosses, the truth is most of my time will be spent going back and forth to work on back country roads in southern New Jersey. And that is where the STI excelled.

It seems like it is too easy getting caught up in magazine numbers. C&D posted a 4.6 second 0-60mph and a 13.2@103mph 1/4 mile. While great numbers, my car is not likely to see either and that's ok.

The one number that jumped out at me the most was 13mpg on a 1000 mile trip. That will get expensive using sunoco 94.

Does anyone know if you can swap in a spec-c steering box?? lol

wow, hopefully that mpg was a type-o. although was that 1000 city or highway? Regardless I bet if driven in a more civilized manner, you'd see better than that.

STi dominated the EVO top end. Car and Driver hit 130mph 4 full secons faster in the STi vs the EVO. 4 secons at 130mph is a huge distance.

The STi was also much faster 0-60mph and also in the street start 5-60mph. They mentioned the EVO was very weak in power at low rpms.
