Talking BOV Question...

im pretty sure ill be getting a STI soon after i sell my current ride. question is, (im turbo illiterate) do ALL bov's simply bolt-on? and which bov will be the best bang for my buck? also, where is a good recommended place to purchase one. i see that alot of peeps have the blitz ss bov or hks bov. how do they differ besides by brand name and looks? all feedback are welcomed.

well, ya, of course im going to get an intake and exhaust as well. problem is that cai will void my warranty. i know that i can just switch it out if i do need warranty work but its just the hassle of it. i heard a k&n filter wont void warranty. also, when i test drove a wrx, i noticed there was no sound of the turbo spooling up. would i need to change the stock airbox to get this sound? mahalo

A BOV in my opinion is a waste of money just for noise.

i noticed that u said a bov is a waste of money, but at the same time u told him to get a cold air intake. hrm...try doing a quick search on cai (cold air intakes) for any wrx/sti cars and tell me how they can help you gain performance.

Actually, the STi has a BYPASS valve not a blow off valve. Aftermarket is basically a waste of money. I have also heard from some people that the intake is a waste without some kind of engine management (A/F, UTEC, ...). So, I would save your maoney and wait for everything to be released. The car is still too new and people are still experimenting, but it is your money.

Just my 2 cents.

so are you saying that venting to the atmosphere is better than recirculating? or did u mean to say it didnt matter at all if you do VTA?

Save time, energy and money and stick with the stock bypass valve.
