Bel Air Subaru has a Black/Silver sitting outside

I saw a white sti fresh from the factory atop a car carrier that was parked in the park-and-ride at the end of I-70. A lot of subies on that carrier, but the STi was right out front - looked menacing. People were slowing down and ogling over it - no joke.
Hey all - I just called to check on this. It's a black/gold STi they're sitting on presently. Spoke to someone in sales who told me "They're only making 8,000/year, it's highly in demand, and we just sold a silver/silver for not quite a 5k markup." So I asked her if they were anticipating much repeat biz from practices like that and she just reiterated the supply/demand statement. I laughed at her and got off the phone. How shoddy a business practice.......please nobody buy this car from them at that price - it's absolutely ridiculous IMO.

I saw that one up there tuesday. I can't believe that someone actually bought the silver one that quick at a 5K markup.
Heck, I started ordering my WRX from there until they started playing the supply/demand markup game with me.
I still paid less than what they have thier 03's marked at for 'clearance'..
At least the service/parts department seems reasonable.

I just called them and they gave me the run around about how hot the car is and how little are being produced. I proceeded to tell them I will have a trade-in and if theywould give me $5,000 more than what the car is worth we have a deal. My reasoning is as follows. I have an orange 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. There were 1,750 of these cars produced with 750 of them being orange. Pretty rare indeed. 250 of these orange vehicles went to Canada. That would leave 500 for the US or 10 per state. The salesman I was talking to did not understand so I let him know that the supply and demand tactic can be used against them if it is done professionally and smartly. I want an STI but will never pay over MSRP. He told me to come in later tonight and we can talk. I think I will stop by. I will not buy the car either way because I want blue or silver.
Hmm, that's on my way home. I might just have to stop buy and see the fire works.
I just can't see spending $36k on a car and not getting a test drive. Especially if I have a little patience I know where I can get one for MSRP or better.
