......Or maybe next time you can not answer a question with a question, and if you don't know the answer to the question move on to the next thread.

Thanks, didn't think it would. Just in the back of my mind I was wishing it would.

I'm not absolutely sure, but i think one of the reasons is that an FMIC would take a bit of work to make it pass our safety regulations, and secondly thats how all subarus have done their turbo/ic setups, its kinda like a signature thing: TMIC+AWD+Turbo=WHEEEEEEEEEE!, its their winning formula

Another reason is due to the fact that the EJ-series, being a flat four with a lessened vertical footprint, leaves a lot more room above it in the engine compartment.

This creates a perfect spot for the intercooler directly above the intake port on the engine and only a short distance away from the turbo. Making it far more efficient then the long runs of intercooler pipeing required on a front mount intercooler.

Then why does the SWRT car have a FMIC?

Oh and I don't want to turn this thread in to a "which IC is better" thread. A STi "tuned" for I FMIC would be a monster. But right now my TMIC is working just fine!
