Alternative to STI ?
I'm surprised not many RX-8 fans here. even with low torque, i think RX-8 fits my needs better than others listed. ...usable back seat, excellent handling, light weight (relatively speaking..), higher redline (for the sound and feel)... close second would be Evo.

It's just too bad the RX-8 looks like *** on wheels. Why did they have to bring the rotary back in such a hideous package?

Its like trading in your Pamela Andersen home video for the newest one and when you play it you see Anna Nicole.

I think the Z looks awesome but I want AWD. I still wonder about the quality/reliability of a Mitsu though.

You guys overlooked the Volvo S60R:
2.5L turbocharged inline-5
300HP
295 ft-lbs
AWD
3,560lb curb weight
6 speed manual or 5 speed auto
$36,825
...and interior build quality that will make the STi feel like a Ford Festiva.

, but, i still bought a WRX then...I remember seeing RX-8 up close in a mktg study. only thing i'd change is the front grill/bumper to get rid of that Mazda smile.
