2 racing questions
I felt the stutter too but i have never driven an awd car before. Then like a day after i got the STi i drove my friends Evo felt it and then drove my other friend's modded VR4 12.98@105 and felt it . He explained something like downshift said.In between gears you can't side step the clutch because the awd boggs the drivetrain you need to (in his words) pretend the clutch pedal is strapped to your foot and smoothly let it out don't side step.
I have no bog now i can launch at 2500 very briskly w/ no bog and i haven't smelt clutch once but i always do on my friends evo and he's on his second clutch so your clutch work may not be as good as you think 2wd is much more forgiving to the clutch.

downshift couldnt be more correct.ive breen racing circle track for along time.lol till i got married.thought i was a good driver.then my dealership sent me to soa sti driving seminar.all the british big dawgs were there.was great driving with pro drivers.really thought i knew how to drive the car correct.bottom line there was alot to learn.after swallowing pride it all became easy to pick up.high rpm shifts and time taken between shifts was the trick.keeping the car smooth as possible.they gave me a in car camera tape id love to put on this site if they could make the room.tape of pro driver driving.oh ya,lamo mods wont void warranty issues.were do some get these facts.

propain, maybe u should take it easy before u really start gunning it or tryin to gun it. cause ur car is still new new. smelling the clutch is NOT a good sign at all. hehe everytime u smell it, means u really punished it and its smelling cause ur damaging it more and more. eventually it wont grab as well. its ok if it smells little a couple times or something but if u do it often or too much, u will need a new clutch soon. clutches are pricey too. take ur time and u will learn it. no need to prove anything yet, i kno its tempting with so many people staring and gawking and gazing. but try to keep it on the real and take ur time, eventually u will know how to and feel the true power of the STi, its a very powerful machine. =) needs to be driven with angelic grace and heavenly finese.

ok, Well im figuring it was new clutch breakin smell, Because after driving it for this week I no longer smell it.
I actually get out of the car and poke my nose into the wheel well ect to try to smell it. Nothing now.
Either my driving style has improved so its not burning or it was just new clutch smell..
Im taking it easy. I really dont beat on the car. Launching from the hole ive done once. Ive brought it over 5k maybe 4 times. Once to redline by accident because the beast revs up so quick.
Other than that its just fast acceleration from speed up to 5 to 5 1/2 k
