How does the transmission feel? Shifting smooth and easy? Any probems going into 1st gear or any other gear? How does the clutch feel?

I only have 399 miles but.........

The STi 6-speed trany is GREAT!!!!!!

There is no clutch shutter or 1st and reverse problems like in the WRX 5-speed that I have seen yet.

It shifts very smooth and tight and the clutch feels frim, yet easy to push.

Looks to be just about the same. Looks like you can fit 2 med suit cases in it, and stuff things around them, just like the WRX.

The break in period is 1000 miles. That's a lot of times around the island.

how's the quality inside? Things fit well? How's the sound deadening? Is it real loud? Who does it compare to WRX?

Also, what about that rear glass? real thin?

thanks,
-S

IMO it's just like a WRX as far as quality inside. It's not bad at all. The STi seats are cool. I think they are better than the WRX's seats, they are made out of suede (I think?). They feel sexy!

But it IS a little loud in inside, but I just think it's the tires and I don't have a radio to hide road noise yet.

Don't know about the glass, haven't looked yet. I'll get back to you.

Alright...this is a little more reasonable

The STIs clutch feels pretty good....very smooth engagement and not very stiff. I was expecting it to be harder to drive than your average car but honestly.....it's pretty easy. And I'm actually surprised by the smooth engagement and relatively soft feel...might have been nice if there was a little shorter travel in the clutch pedal but its still good.

The seats are pretty comfortable and they are covered in Ecsaine which holds nicely....I guess it makes up for a little less side bolstering which I'd love to have more of.

The tranny is decent but I havent driven it hard yet. I have a feeling the flywheel is a little heavy because the revs don't drop very quickly but I don't know for a fact. Personally I think the shifter is OK. The throws are reasonably short but the shifter is a little tall for a performance car with a 6sp manual. Maybe this is a result of the ring mechanism used to get the car in reverse.

Alright....I need a break....haha

What kind of material is the rear wing and scoop made of? If anyone installed an aftermarket stereo, what wiring harness did you use?

The wing and scoop look to be made out of the same plastic as the 02 & 03 WRX ones. Doesn't look like anything to new.

Sorry I can't be more help on this one.

Does the intercooler water spray tank intrude on the trunk space? I know it's on the passenger side behind a panel, but do you lose any cargo area because of it?

Even if they're the same material - do they bounce/flex any more due to their larger size?
