WTT/WTB: Stock or upgraded impreza speakers
K, I recently sold my subs and my front/rear speakers are:
front: Memphis Reference M75 (or something like that) 6.25??
rear: Diamond Motorsport 6.25??
They offer prett much no mid or low end sound. I'm looking to possibly trade or buy stock rs/wrx speakers or the premium upgraded ones. I have a 96 L and need to know if these will fit or not.

You will be very dissapointed with the stock speakers, escpecially coming from Memphis speakers. Memphis speakers don't have much low end but they are one of the clearest sounding speakers I have heard. Maybe try Boston Acoustics. They aren't quite as clear as Memphis but they offer more bass, they handle power well for a long time and are very well made. I still have the stock speakers though, so if you want to make a trade I would be interested in that.

yes, I agree that they memphis speakers are SUPER clear and I can crank up the treb but I want a 'fuller' speaker that sounds decent without subs. Shoot, my gf's caviler speakers sound better than my setup right now. Maybe I should go sit in a 05 wrx or something and listen to a cd....I don't know.

The stock speakers that I have are from an 05 RS. If you are trying to avoid spending money, I'm sure I can get them to you. I don't know how satisfied you will be with them. The Memphis really do need a sub, there is no bass in them at all. I have a sub and was looking at going from boston acoustic to memphis, just to clear things up a bit. I'm not sure what your intentions are, but if you want to try to work something out let me know.

so right now you have boston acoustic speakers looking to go to memphis speakers?? Maybe my best bet is to keep my memphis speakers up front like they are and swap out my rear diamond motorsports for some stockers or boston acoustic 6 1/2 s ????

yeah i have bostons all the way around. They are great, but since I have a sub i think that a clearer Memphis speaker would be nice, I'll just let the sub handle the lows. On the other hand the Memphis speakers have aluminum tweeters which heat up kinda fast. I take road trips so the bostons are better for long periods of time. What size are the backs? Mine are pretty small, I can't remember exactly but the fronts are 6 1/2 but the backs are smaller. Even if you fit 6 1/2s in the back, I'm not sure if you are going to get enough bass, you might want to swap them all. It's hard to say, the memphis speakers are great and sound nice as long as there is a sub, I would have a hard time getting rid of them, but to get a decent amount of bass you might need to try something new all the way around. Someone else should chime in with opinions.

If your still looking for stock WRX speakers, I'm going to be replacing all of them from a 2002 Impreza (front/rear speakers and tweeters) in the next week or so. Let me know if you want my stocks, you can have them if you pay for shipping.
