two amps - 1 wagon... amp placement?
two amps - 1 wagon... amp placement?
I've got a 50x4 kicker amp and a 200x1 kicker sub amp that I'm going to be installing in my 2004 wrx wagon.
for those of you who have two amplfiers - where have you placed them?
Ideally, I'd rather not take to much trunk room...

I put mine on the backs of the back seats. 4 channel for the speakers went on the wide side of the split, mono amp for the sub went on the narrow side.
I've also seen someone with a 4 channel mounted on the wide side and a mono mounted on the sub box itself.

both my amps have a fairly small footprint...
You could put the 50 X 4 underneath one of the seats (ok not sure if there's room but you get the idea) and the 200 X 1 on your sub box.
That way you wouldn't have anything in the cargo area if you put your seats down and take out your sub box. All you'd have to do is disconnect the wires to the amp and pull the fuse in the engine bay.
I'm not so sure about putting them in the spare tire area just because of the lack of air movement/volume to cool the amps. But, I guess a lot of show cars have them in those kinds of places so maybe the amps are ok in such a cramped and non-airy place.
