I have a 2006 WRX TR, I'm having trouble reprogramming the keyfob. My battery for the keyfob has been dead for quite awhile. Someone has finally changed the battery to it and it still doesn't.

I have tried doing the owner's manual reprogramming, following the instructions completely. Yet it still doesn't seem to program the keyfob. I'm not getting any beep after I turn the key on/off 10 times. Would the CEL light being on have anything to do with it? I have secondary air codes popping up atm. Help would be appreciated.

Any thoughts?

If all else fails, I'd like a quote from a shop if that's the only route.
