Im wondering how much it costs to get the Stock 6disc in-dash head unit for an 03 wrx.

The shop that installed my system lost my deck and now there going to replace it. Dealer said $905 for a new one. Which sounds great to me because I asked the shop if I can get store credit for the amount instead of the deck. But they said there going to try to get it OEM and save some money, which I understand. They havent got back to me yet but I am wondering what a reasonable offer will be. I dont want them to say $200 just so they can give me less store credit when really it would cost like $600 or something.

Any vendors know this answer? or anyone?

I dont want to buy one, just want to find what the absolute lowest price I can get a Brand new one for is. The shop is giving me that price in store credit and Im going to buy a Home stereo with that credit.

And at the service center when I asked the price, the guy said he could only find the one for the STI. I assumed they were the same, I guess maybe they charge more for STI owners for the same thing lol.

 

STI's dont have radios in them!! .. you can tell that guy that he doesn't know what hes talking about. LOL

 

the sti's radio is the factory 6 in dash radio. its just an over priced option.

Well I found out the price. OEM brand new it can be had for $618. Which I got store credit for and got a Denon reciever and paradigm speakers and I am very happy with my entire home theater system for only the cost of my lost factory head unit and $180 out of my pocket.

Basically $800 stereo for 200 and I no longer have a factory head unit, which all I would have done was sell it on here for much less anyways

 

Wow, I didn't know Paradigm made car speakers. I have Paradigm home speakers, and I think they are great pieces. Awesome quality.
