??Starter replaced remote stop working??

I replace the starter on my 98 rs and everything went well. The problem now it the auto start function on my remote is not working anymore. It did worked once the very 1st time but the car stall itself ad after that the auto start function just stop working. when I press the start or defrost botton on the remote all it will do is 2 beep beep sound.
This function is not that important since I never drive without my key in the car but it would be nice to know the reason

I just notice today that if I keep the hood open the auto start function will work but the call will still stall after a minute of so. I also notice there is a sensor tape to the hood. maybe that got something to do with it

but it's OK I find out the problem.
apearantly that the sensor for the is loss and if that things loss with the hood close the car wont start with the remote. all i did was tape it back in the right place

yup, you found it, it's a hood pin that only lets the car start if the hood is closed. It's supposed to be for safety reasons, so nobody accidently remote starts the car when you're shoulder deep tryin to tighten some belt or somethin
