speaker questions
I'm going to upgrade my speakers. Does anyone know the size of the front and rear door speakers, and the tweeters in the front doors? I was thinking of getting all kenwood or is there a better choice for fitment.

I've got an 05' WRX and they're 5 1/4" in the front doors, the tweeters I'm not 100% sure but you should be ok with 3/4"-1." I'm assuming the rear doors are 5 1/4" as well, I didn't have those replaced. I have 6 1/2" Boston SL600's and they fit fine with some very slight modification on how they bolted in the doors. Hope that helps.

i went 6.5 components in the front. polk , also using the stock tweeter location. you need a spacer for the speaker
the rear is 4" and it was dremeled to fit a 5.25". no problems

speaker replacement
Crutchfield was very helpful about why some speakers fit and others don't. they also have fitment software on the site that is very user-friendly.
Almost bought from them, as I bought my HU from them, and was happy with service, etc. Then I found the Infinity speakers I wanted at a big discount on Cardomain, who also checks the fitment for your vehicle on their site.
Have not received the order yet, but I also bought the dynamat for sound dampening the door as others have reported what a huge difference this can make.
so I bought 6.5's for the front door on my '01 Forester.
