Hey everyone , I am trying to install a used Sony CDX M610 "Explode" stereo in my '00 2.5RS .. Needless to say it didn't come with any instructions . It fits well , but whoever installed the last head unit in it hacked up the wiring harness , also the wires on my new unit are cut short enough that the small descriptions on each wire saying what it does are gone , I have most of them figgured out but I have a light blue wire and a marigold with white trace left over on the stereo side , what do they do if anything and what should they be connected to on the subaru side . Any wiring diagrams would be helpful also..
The Stereo also has no FM reception , but works perfectly on AM , CD , and CD changer , is this a common problem ? Can it be fixed?
Thank you all again !

not sure if you already figured this out.
i have the same deck. i believe your extra wires are pieces youd hook into subwoofer controller pieces, or at least into the amplifiers
it sounds like you have tinting on your ride. that generally interferes with fm since our antennas are attached to our rear windshield. am doesn't really utilize this and cd just runs off of the internals.
might have to use ceramic tint. little more expensive but allows for fm reception.
hope this helps

Light blue wire is your power antennae wire. Orange with white is illumination. Neither are necessary to your app. DO NOT HOOK THE ORANGE WITH WHITE TO GROUND!
Light blue wire is used to turn on your (power amplified) glass antenna. I'm just gonna take a stab and say that that is why you are not getting fm.
pretty much everything that guy said was wrong....no offense. blue with white stripe is your amp turn on lead. The only tint that could interfere with the reception of the glass antenna to the point of no reception would be putting a metallic based tint on the outside of the car, which no one in their right mind would do if they wanted it to last
sorry....I know that sounded very b-hole of me, Didnt mean it
