radio works cd player not work help!

Car Info: 2004 Impreza Wrx
radio works cd player not work help!
The radio of my 2004 wrx works but the cd player doesnt. When i go to press cd button to engage listening of, it wont activate the player. Was wondering do i need a new head unit or more, someone help thanks?
