Pioneer Navigation

Does anybody have experience with the pioneer avic-z1 or z2? I was considering one of these units but I would like to hear some feedback from someone that has used it. I want to do navigation for sure but I want a unit that I can easily overide to work while the car is moving. Any recomendations would be appreciated.

I just threw in the new Kenwood DNX7100 in my WRX

It stores the GPS info on an internal memory card so you don't have to worry about removing discs or ordering new ones. It has a nifty Ipod video hookup and bypasssing the e-brake wire is really easy. I installed mine in an about an hour last weekend. Been working great so far.

Here's a link to how it looks

http://www.wickedcas.com/gallery/main.php/v/videoipod/

Just some quick features:

Garmin GPS built in memory (upgradable by SD memory card slot)
DVD player
DivX compatible player
MP3 disc compatible
Ipod Video hookup and interface (all completely controllable on screen)
USB hookup for any other music\photo device (also easy on-screen navigation)
Allows user to upload customer wallpaper
6.95 inch Wide color LCD
Maximum Output Power : 50W x 4
3 Preouts with 2.0V Pre-out Level
1 set AV Inputs / 1 set AV Output

These require accessories:

Satellite radio ready
Rear view camera ready
Bluetooth ready
Able to receive live traffic, weather and even stock info

I have a hookup on the D3 but the single slot dvd is worrying me. The screen is only 6.1 inch I think. I moslty use my ipod so the slot might not be a huge problem. Do you think its a good buy if I get it at 625?

yeah that a good deal, most of the time i see them for like 700+. avic411.com is a nice place to hear about the avic navs. what about the single slot worries u? u can still play a cd and have nav at the same time. the map loads on to the memory when u wanna play a cd. and it has dvd and divx codec! the ipod on the system is alot better then the z1 z2 i hear.

Looks clean 1sick07, How is the screen quality on your D3? It saves the map of the destination only right? I guess I just wish it could be saved on a hard drive. I think I'm gonna go for it because itll be hard to find that price again. Thanks for the input.

Yeah you have to put in the destination, then your can popthe DVD in. The quality is almost better than my tv at home "27" flatscreen".
