New tweeters or door speakers?
New tweeters or door speakers?
I recently put a 200 watt sub in the trunk of my 2002 RS. I still need a nice looking grill for it and to put in some dynamat to stop the vibrating but that is another topic. Anyway, I have an aftermarket headunit and the stock speakers with the subaru tweeters. I though it sounded good, untill I started hearing wierd sounds. I investigated and found out the tweeters were not making some of the sounds properly and they ended up sounding like clicks instead. When I unpluge them, these go away, but it sounds almost hollow and seems to be missing some sounds. I have them in there still, just unplugged.
So now I am wondering if I am better off just getting a pair of nice tweeters, or the 4 door speakers? Can just the 4 speakers produce all the sounds the tweeters did? And there seems to be a place to mount 2 more speakers in the back, has anyone tried this, is it hard? Would 2 low range speakers back there, 4 mid range in the doors, and 2 tweeters up front be sweet?
So basicly, what would be the best to change and what speakers or tweeters specificly, but that wouldn't cost a ton or be too difficult to install?
Any help would be great. Thanks.
