Need a system for my WRX wagon......
I just got back from a sound shop and got a quote for a complete system for my car....
- Kicker components 6 1/2 k.62 ($199.99) - fronts
- Kicker Fullrange 6 1/2 k65 (129.95) - rears
- Kicker S10L5 sub (199.95)
- Kicker 4 Channel kx600.4 (199.95)
- kicker sub amp rx600.1 (499.95)
- build the box (180.00)
- Labor ($250.00)
- 4 gauge + 3 RCA's (99.00)
Total: 1839.70 + tax
I'm pretty much a noob. So please help me if you can.
Does the Kicker components and rear speakers have a chance to fit with some adjustments by the installer?
How would the Kicker S10L5 sub sound in my WRX wagon? I prefer sound quality... Would the sub be to much bass?
Are the amps good enough for the money?
Can someone please give me a better setup if they know of one?
Thank you very much for your help.....

The reason I'm asking these question becuase I don't really know if this dealer is just push parts he has in stock and needs to get rid of them.... or is he really giving me the best bang for my buck....
I'm willing to spend between $2000-3000 for a good quailty setup....
Thank you,

I never had a complete system before. But I do want quality parts and sound.
I started to build one for my 1996 Honda Accord LX, but never finished. I only had front components, 4 - channel amp and an Alpine head unit. It sounded ok but I wanted to get a sub.
Now that I have a new car I would like to do it right this time.....
I am still trying to learn about car audio. Reading everyone's post and different opinions.
I do want to get the most for my money.
That's why I'm asking for opinions on that quote I received. I definitely want to think about buying the components off the internet and having them professionally installed or if I can find someone to do it for me. I don't feel technically/mechanically comfortable to put it together myself.
If you have any suggestions to different components I am open to them. I am not set on Kicker.... I'm still trying to figure out if there a decent brand. ....
I am going to shop arround a little bit. Most likley purchasing through the internet will be cheaper. I am just starting out putting together the perfect system for me.
So any advice will help. I am open to anything. I just don't want to fuc* up my car.....

I priced out the same parts from above through www.ikesound.com.
Total came out to be $1,416.00.
A savings of $522.75
Not bad......hehehehe

I am Using an Alpine headunit and factory speaker replacements. I have those speakers filtered to only output mids and highs so i can save the rest for the sub (and so i never blow my speakers on low notes that they can't handle).
As for the Sub, I am using one 12" Audioban AW1200X Powered by another Audiobahn A1300HC amp. It is in one custom box (that takes up half the trunk of my Subi)! Let me tell you, it is incredible getting a full body message from one sub. it out performs most that use multiple subs. (It also gives me headaches if I listen to it for too long).
I have 3 or 4 friends that have now changed their subs and amps over to Audiobahn stuff. We all swear by them! they are reliable and durable and shiney and fairly cheap (surprisingly). The friend who turned me onto them years ago, well he's won competitions with using just one sub like me (the same sub actually)! I have yet to try entering mine yet...no competitions within 100 miles of me.
here's the site:
http://www.audiobahninc.com
they have a new line out since i've obtained my stuff, but the changes were purely cosmetic (for the most part). The specs on perforance are all the same though. So I'd search around for some deals on the older lines of Audiobahn stuff being sold at discount prices.
And my whole setup that I listed above only cost me $1,200 (I installed everything myself).
I did a lot of research on this stuff before I invested in what I did, so feel free to PM me anything, and I should be able to answer you, or at least direct you somewhere to help.
