mr obvious here...

but did you check the fuses?

dont laugh... once i tore apart my dash wondering why the clock on my truck wouldnt work.

i blew the circuit by a bad wired accessory. so i replaced the fuse. still didnt work.

so i spent an afternoon tearing the dash apart cause i though the fusable link was blown (which was buried in the dash wiring). test the link and there was continuity.

so i looked at the fuse. looked fine. but just out of the blue i connected it to the voltmeter and NO CONTINUITY!!!!!!!!

i dug up another fuse and check it. it was okay. inserted it into the fuse block and boom... everything worked...

i still feel stupid everytime i bring that up.... d'oh....

Check for shorts, thats the most likely.

I'd go through and try to diagnose where the problem is. Try disconnecting the gauges seeing if that fixes the problem. If it does reconnect it 1 wire at a time, testing each to find where the problem is. If it didn't work after removing the gauges, check other places you might have affected by installing it. Essentially take it one connection at a time to try to narrow down where and what the problem is.

that could be the case since the LED (wait... is it USDM STi 04+ gauge???), that might be pulling too much power.

i just checked the 02 STi PDF manuals i got from subaru and i cant seem to find the fuse blocks and the values. i can check the owners manual though... lol...

which fuse keeps blowing? and how much is the fuse?

i woiuld check for shorts.

i didnt see that you said it blows as soon as you turn the key.

did you cut up anything, wiring related, when you installed the gauge?

did you check scoobymods.com for tips on the install?

You've got a short somewhere in your radio wiring and it's causing the fuse to blow. You must have tied the power for the gauge into the radio power or ign. and either that wire is hitting metal or may be backwards.

If it's a USDM STi gauge, the power and lights are in a 2 hole connector that attaches to the radio's extra plug. Is it possible you put that plug in backwards?

Give us some more info on how you wired up the gauge since that is obviouslt the source of the problem.

Please don't force anything. You need to cut a wire to make this work. It believe it was B28. You should run a search on sti gauges and you will get details of this. I had mine done a few weeks ago and it is work perfectly.

The problem is not the fuse at all. It is the Outside Temperature meter on the gauge that is causing the problem. After you cut the wire B28, you will have both your stereo and clock back up. DON'T force it by using a bigger fuse man.

Are we talking about an 04 STi Boost Gauge or a Gauge (Dashboard) Cluster?

I assumed the Boost gauge that goes on the column. If you're talking about the gauge cluster, then ignore my comments above (except for the one about responded to the thread I linked to - you need to do that ASAP).

I think the situation sounded like the gauge cluster.
