Install on 04 STi

Do I need a wiring harness/mounting kit for my 04 STi?

I bought a pioneer headunit if that makes any difference.

Also, is there a way to use that nice subaru plate under the stereo instead of that crappy hole spacer?

All you need is a wire harness to plug into the factory harness. The head unit will bolt directly to the factory ISO brackets that are in the car. Yes, you can purchase a Forester DIN pocket w/door and mount it below or above your head unit. You will have to drill holes in the ISO bracket to get the DIN pocket to fit properly.
