How many prefer a double din head unit to a flip screen?

How many people here have either and what the experiences with them are? I thought about a flip screen but afraid of it prematurely breaking due to the lowered car syndrome.

thanks

There are just so many moving parts in the flip screen it has a higher chance of breaking. I also think they look ugly.

double din for sure! I have one and every suby I now has one.

It's more mature. The flip thing is cool but gets old, I feel it has rice written all over it too.

double din is more prone to theft than the flilp. but in terms of aesthetics, use double din is the way to go.

I voted for flip screen due to my Evo having one, but in the Suby I loved having the extra little area for my Defi control unit to sit in.

Double din! I like to use the cup holders above the stereo.

wow that's alot of votes for the double din.

yea, the downs on the flip screen seem to out weigh the ups. I do like the fact that i still have a compartment for other stuff since the flip screen is a single din, but i do use the vents for heat and ac frequently.

any one have a pic of a flip screen installed on their suby??

the research continues....

Ps. saw that F90BT wingless, looks sicc. its similar, if not the same as the pic above right?

My thoughts exactly!
I have a Pioneer screen in my car and I love it. As for the theft, a few friends of mine fabbed up a "stock looking" cover screen that was attached to half of a CD so they could place it over the touchscreen if their car was parked somewhere where theft might occur. I will have to dig out a picture of theirs, it looks pretty stock when the cover is in place.
This is what mine looks like. I love it!
