Car Info: 2004 Subaru STI/WRX Silver of course

Hooked up Amp....

I hooked up a amp in my car today and now when the cd player is suppose to be playing I have no sound but when the tuner is on I have sound only wires I messed with on the deck are the speaker wires when I hooked up the speakers to the amp and I plugged in my RCA cables I am lost not sure what would cause this anybody got any suggestions HU is a Kenwoord KDC-X859.

Did you hook up a subamp, or 4-ch amp? if you hooked up an amp to your interior, you might have the remote turn on wire hooked up to the power antenna coming from the deck. You need to hook up the remote turn on wire to the blue/white wire, not the blue wire.

It is a 4-channel it is hooked up to my door speakers. It works fine with the tuner but when you put a cd in there is no sound kinda funny...

yea, you have your remote turn on wire hooked up to the power antenna out of the radio. Just hook up your remote turn on wire going to the amp to the blue/white from your radio, and you'll have sound on radio+cd

I didn't think it would make a difference..I went out and hooked it up to the blue/white wire and it works fine still not sure why that is thanks for your help I just thought I needed to hook the remote up to a power source that was powered when the key was on...Again thanks

Blue/white - remote turn on - gives off 12v whenever the radio is on. When the radio is off, it's not sending any power.
Blue - power antenna - only gives off 12v when radio is turn to power a power antenna(if you have one). Does not give power when you have a cd playing.
