Happy b-day to me
Ok so this morning I was driving to work and my rear speakers started crackling and popping...
My front spakers have been shot sence I got the car 3 years ago.
I started to think about it at work and realized... I have been kicking the same mdx-100 head unit around for about 6 years now.
I had crappy $30 mijer speakers in the rear from when I did my sub box and distroied my stockers in the process..
This is a pain because Im making a 200 mile treck to see my feance friday for my birthday. That would be a long trip without tunes...
So screw it you only go around once eh?
I went to see my friend at the audio shop and treated my self right.
here are the specs.
sony cdx-gt400 head unit.
-52W x 4
-front aux imput
-mp3/wma/atrac3pluse playback
-remote
-fancy multi color display.
infinity refrance series two way speakers for the rear
infinity refrance series two way componet sysem for front.

8 hours later.. its all in.
I cannot even begin to explain how good this set up sounds..
Im very happy, and thats just out of the box.. I cant wate to see how they do once I throw in an amp and start pushing some real power to them.
I will never buy cheap-o speakers again!!

Infinity prides them selfs on sound clarity as well.
so when you have a sony head unit powering infinity speakers you end up with a very tinny sound.
The fact that I have the stock front speaker mounting and an enclosed rear speaker box leaves me with bass comming from the back and all trebble up front.
Also made it seem like the rear speakers are lowder than the fronts.
So I poped an extra $100 on a 300Watt amp and wireing kit to boost the power of the front speakers. I am currently considering making fiberglass buckets to create an enclosure for the back side of the woofers in the doors.
The amp went in nice; fits well under the passingers seat. It has an adjustible cross over so I have the amp currently sett at full pass, with the high pass turned all the way down. It did a great job of getting the front speakers to push just as much as the rear and cut down the tin.
The only issue now is that the sound stays so clear at irresponsibly loud levles, I listen to my music way too loud now!!
Im very happy with it and would reccomend this set up to any one looking to drop about $500 on a decent sounding system.
