Fader and the stock sub
I opted for the upgraded stereo when I bought my WRX wagon last year. The stereo was OK, but the sub was spliced off of the rear speakers. To get more bass, you need to fade to the rear. BAD! I lived with it because I assumed that's how it was designed.
Recently my wife bought a Forester with basically the same stereo. However, her sub is spliced off of the front speakers. GOOD!
My Q: does anyone know where the splice connection is to the sub? I want to redo mine, but I want to spend as little time as possible hunting down the connection point.

You don't get any more or less base by fading to the rear, you only get less if you fade towards the front. Anyway, the connection is behind the radio in the console. The sub has a "T" harness connection that goes between the harness and the radio. It sort of taps into there w/ a kind of pass through. Have a look here for more info:
