do I need spacer kit?
HI folks:
I have an 04 with factory "audio upgrade package" which includes the better door speakers and sub.
I am wondering if will still need to purchase a spacer kit or will the stock/upgrade setup accomodate a 2-2.5" deep 6.5" speaker?

I don't have a WRX but have a Forester XT, but I guess they are fairy similar.
I doubt you will have enough clearance for your speaker install. Just finished installing a pair of MB Quart DSC-216 (6.5" componet set). The speakers are about 2.4" deep. After examining the situation I fabricated a 3/4" thick spacer ring using MDF and it gives enough clearance to the window mechanism.
