Hrmm, it depends on alot on the enclosure as well.
I had two RF P2 10" in a custom sub floor enclosure in my eclipse. With a RF 900watt mono amp, and it was very tight bass, and it was everything I could want in a system. Wow, too much really. Very good package, and they even had decent low end response for being a 10"
Also depends on what head unit you pair that with too, for the sub controls it has. There are alot of variables....

I like my alpine type R 10......w/ an alpine mrd 301(350 RMS). All for $260 from crutchfield! I'm happy. And I didn't have to blow what $500-600 on the w7.

Image Dynamics IDQ subs are some of the best I've ever heard, i'm a buyer of their stuff for life... but the way a sub sounds is 80% box design.

hey if yall ever look at the vioce coils on boston acoustic, jl, kennwood ,sony , alpine most of those are very weak, I have a dimond tdx it has a dual aluminum voice coils, I am running 1700 to two 10's and it sounds amazing the only problem all the bass knocks the screws out that are holding them on.

Forget the W7, the SQ on it isnt all that great, its heavier then hell, expensive, and JL is a nightmare company to deal with....But its loud...wonder why there are so many fan-boys?

As has been mentioned, your best bets are either Boston or Image Dynamics. I personally run ID sub's in my car, and love them. They build quality, sound quality, and efficancy on them is through the roof, and the price is great. I would also look into Diamond, but I havent been as impressed with there recent stuff.
Just my .02 cents.

Cheers,

I say go for the 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect. It is pretty loud for a 10" sub in a very small box and it also plays very low for a 10" sub. I had the original 10" kicker solo-baric which was a very nice sub. when it became time to replace it, I was told this was a great 10" sub that would sound great and loud and fit in a small sealed box.

have to disagree. mine rips on SQ. that's actually why I have it. More into quality that boom factor. Cranked up you can barely hear my music out of my car with the window up. feel it...some.

fan boi....no. I've had probably 7 different set ups in my last 3 cars. I like the sound of the 10w7....oh and boom factor...it doesn't get that low.

it is expensive but the only draw back for me is the weight.

as for the question. Regardless of sub get a better amp. Power is the most important thing with speaker performance. underpower and you get distortion and what not.

there are tons of great set ups for the $500-700 range.

I'd say JL10w6v2. or many many others.

I'll get a list if I remember after I get out of class.

I went with two Kicker CompVR10's with a custom box to save on space. I also have infinity speakers all around. The subs are supported by a 600W Rockford Fosgate amp. It sounds great for all types of music and is still gives me enough trunk room. Pretty much any 10 is good, but you need to make sure that you dont buy the bottom line speakers. The extra 50 dollars is well worth it.
Make sure you talk to the shop you are buying from and see if you can get a package deal. I saved over 250 dollars buying it all together.

+1 for diamond audio.

when i had my 2 12s in a civic coupe the diamond audios were load as heck but i'm wondering if that'll be overkill in a wagon.

i'm new to this forum and haven't been able to find install pics for speakers. can anyone linkify me?

much thanks and this is a great forum.

i've had several setups in my wagon w/ single and dual subs... all subs were dvc's and boxes sealed, ported, or bandpass... i haven't had jl w7's but i liked rockford he2's/p3's, kicker L7's, and alpline type R's.

i'm sure everyone who has posted has good reasons for their recommendations. if i were u, i would try to hear what other people's setups sound like, it'll save u some time and $$$.

good luck w/ ur choice!
