Car Info: 2020 WRX STi
I have a 2020 WRX STi and the stereo sounds a bit "flat" at times. I naively assumed as a first time Subaru buyer that premium audio came standard on the STi since it's a higher trim-level, but I was wrong and found out later that there was an option. 🤷🏼♂️
The system has CarPlay so I don't mind the factory headunit at all, but is there any factory-like swap worthwhile on the speakers, for example, in anyone's experience without causing other issues/degradations? Not sure what's best or what people have tried on this or other years, but given the issues with infotainment in recent years, I'm somewhat wary of swapping anything for warranty purposes. Any thoughts would be appreciated! (Hopefully the headunit isn't the problem.)

The sound quality does leave a lot to be desired in my WRX. I've got it better adjusting the EQ and all the other settings, but it's not amazing. Eventually, I'll swap to a new head unit, since from what I've gathered this is the issue, unfortunately.
You shouldn't worry about the warranty though. It can't be voided or the entire car because you changed something like a head unit, because of the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. Basically, if you change anything that leads to something failing, then the warranty doesn't cover it. So if you install an intake and blow up your engine, they could logically argue that's why your engine blew. If you install a head unit and your engine blows, or a window motor dies, obviously that's unrelated so is still covered.
