04 STi Speaker Amping?

Hey guys, just trying to find out if any of you know what the correct procedure is to install wiring into my doors.

I have found out after taking out the door cards and the plastic lining near the doors that the grommets are hard to get through! For the 04 (unlike the previous model years) the door grommets (the ones between the door and the car) are two piece, but the smaller piece that fits inside the larger piece goes all the way inside the door and is electrical taped off, where as the older ones are a 2 piece with a 50/50 split.

Has anybody installed speaker wire successfully in an 04? I'm having so much trouble with this. It's going to be hard to stuff the 12 gauge wire I bought... Any ideas on the best way to do it?

My general idea is to puncture the smaller grommet tube, feed wire through it with a coat hanger and then feed the other end of the wire through the larger grommet. That seems to be the only possibly at this moment of amping my speakers without having to screw with the electrical taped smaller grommet inside the door.

I hope someone can help out with this. I'm running out of ideas and I really don't want to use the stock harness wires since they may burn out.

Any help would be great.

that's what i had planned on doing.

another thing i heard was removing that 1 bolt holding the door opener/limiter to spread the door open some more...

i poked holes through, but the grommet won't stay secure and just hangs there. if i ever get the time and feel VERY bored, i guess i could take out the stock wires and hopefully find room to pass them through.

BTW if you do plan on pushing them through with a wire hangar, i'd suggest using a lil wd40 as it helps greatly *key word = LIL*
