I just had a customer buy and return a subaru harness for his 04 STI because he said it would not fit into his harness in the car. I did not get a chance to look at the car myself. The harness I sold him was a schosche su-02 (i think) 1993-and up subaru harness. It is the same one i used in my 03 wrx. But again he said it did not plug into his harness. Did anyone else run into this problem with their sti's? DOes subaru offer and amplifed system that might have an amplifield harness behind the dash? shed some light please.

 

i used an adapter that came for all wrxs wiht no problems at all just have to make sure to hook up the power ant. wires

 

You customer must not have known what he was doing. The harness for the WRX and the STi are the same. As a matter of fact, I think all Impreza's share the same harness. The only thing that is amplified is the antenna. In order to amplify the antennna, just connect the blue power(motorized) antenna lead from the HU up to the Schosche harness. Eventhough there is not a power antenna, the power is used for the amplified antenna.

 

They are the same, the harness even works with legacy's.
