a lot of posts in this thread at pretty legit ones too. not all of "hey zoeb" is whoring. theres some pretty good stuff in here too

 

yeah, most of them are talking about car issues or wut not... i.e. tracking, etc. not just straight number posts...

 

I will adjust the count. But, you guys are setting a bad example.

it's more that we see iclub as a community of car enthusaists and friends that gather together. and as a form to promote community and communication between each of the members sometimes threads like these will pop up. it is an exchange of information. i agree that straight post whoring of numbers is lame and stoopid and a waste of server space as well as wasting of other users's time to read through the posts. however, when a thread such as this one has grown into a free flowing information exchange area perhaps it is not bad.

i agree with zoeb about the separate forum, as we do not want to simply post *****, but we want an area where we can feel comfortable to ask questions to each other about our cars that we may be shy to ask in other areas. i, for one, have used this thread to ask many of such questions.

we have encountered several people who have come onto the thread and started simply posting numbers, and we have graciously tried to shoo them away.

just my two cents having studied internet communities and actually (sorry alex) used iclub as one of my studied 'subjects' so to speak in a term paper for graduate studies

 

yeah our own forum would be nice, but you can make it so that posts don't count

yeah alex feel free to subtract the 1300 and whatever posts from my account. i don't really care, but almost all of them, wow. i don't really care about the avatar thing, its cool and all but not that big of a deal like many make it seem


sorry if we are setting a bad example, we just use this one thread to just talk about whatever while we are at work so we can pass time away, not to try and increase our post count (well for some of us anyways). i try not to "post *****" anywhere in this site, it just causes a bunch of clutter and gets annoying, thats why i thought we were safe in this thread cause we were keeping all our random stuff in one remote location.

i apologize again if we pissed you off

on a side note, why just me and zoeb get all our posts knocked off? we were the only two in here that actually have over a thousand posts outside of this thread. i regularly browse the general and technical forums trying to be of help in anyway possible to people that have questions and whatnot
