Silver WRX Wagon from ATL on I75 this Sunday?
Anybody around here know a Silver WRX wagon with 3 pilar gauges and TurboXS and AEM stickers on the back from Cobb county? I'd like to know his mods, and let him know what mods the lil pink MX-3 V6 that kept up with him on I75 had

So this weekend while I was back home, I changed my oil for the first time on the KLZE (~6000miles…oops….Mazda recommends 7500 anyways, and I use an oversized filter and Mobil 1 5w30, so I should be ok) and installed the last weak link in my clutch system: a stainless steel hydraulic clutch line. I replaced the master cylinder and slave cylinder over the break, but I suspected my stock, 112k mile rubber line was still a source of some play in the would-be solid system. My suspicions were confirmed, as my shifts are now very crisp and crunch free. Crunch free shifts = good.
So, since my clutch issues are now resolved, I decided to wring the car out a bit on the way home [entirely ignoring the fact that one of the two cross member studs are stripped, which, if it failed, would result in the entire engine and transmission hitting the ground at speed] on northbound I75. Whilst doing a leisurely 70mph [since I have the wrong ECU/Computer for this motor, it runs chokingly rich, to the tune of ~8mpg worse than it should run with the correct setup], 2 silver WRX’s passed me: one wagon and one sedan. The wagon caught my attention first, and I dipped behind the sedan in hopes of some highway fun. Approaching the toll booth north of Orlando, I was sure he’d jump out of the hole and we’d have a good time. But alas, it was not meant to be: he didn’t seem too interested in racing, probably cause he was in his 50’s with 2 passengers about the same age. So, I decided all hope was not lost, since I could still see the Wagon ½ mile up the road. I got up next to him finally after trying to get a clear spot in front of both lanes for a bit. I’m not sure what his modifications were, but I don’t think they come with 3 pillar gauges and stickers from TurboXS and AEM from the showroom floor. So I got his attention, and he gave the thumbs up. Three honks and we go WOT from ~80mph. By ~90mph, he had pulled his rear door to my front wheel, where he stayed till ~125mph. We exchange nods and grins and continue up the road to the next break in traffic. This time, with him on my right, he signals the race from ~80mph again. Same result: pulls to where his rear wheel is just at my door, and stays there till ~ 115-120mph. He gives the big thumbs up, as do I, and he continues on his way to ATL [I assume by his Cobb county tags] and I drop back to my 70mph, happy that my little normally aspirated pink car did ok against a possibly modified turbo car.
Hopefully once I get the right computer so that it’s not fouling the plugs, upgrade the 1-3/4” exhaust, get rid of the cone filter on the VAF and invest in a real intake, and fix the freaking crossmember and broken motor mounts, the car will be ready for some real thrashing at the track. I figure in current trim she’s putting down ~150-160whp, and about the same in torque, and should put down ~175whp/170tq with the above issues resolved.
Any comments/flames?
