North Carlina SMOG
i am moving from Miami FL to ashville North Carolina and i wanted to know how bad the smog inspections are up there. Down here in FL we dont even have them. I have a gutted up pipe but i am planning to go totaly catless soon but i am waiting to get up there do my smog test. Does anyone know how often you have to get them? how in depth they are? do cops pull you over for loud exhaust? any auto-x or rally racing up in west NC? Any wrx owners up there? Help me out guys, i will be up there in late may.

I live in Pittsboro NC, which is about 25 miles south-west of Chapel Hill. So I am a ways east of you. The smog inspections here aren't bad at all. The car gets hooked up to a computer in the OBD port. If your computer isn't reading any problem codes your good. So just make sure your check engine light isn't on or your computer is not displaying any codes before getting it inspected.
