Florida Emissions
I just found out that the Air Force is sending me to Fort Walton Beach for 11 months. So, I was wondering. Does Florida have emissions testing? Also, are there front license plates in Florida or just rear plates?
Thanks for your help.

Just rear plates, and the emissions depend on the county you'll be in. I live in Pinellas and there's no emission testing here. Not sure about Okaloosa County (thank you Google!).
However, my uncle is in the airforce, and unless they've changed the rules since then, you don't actually have to register your car there (here?).
Edit: I did find a blurb from the Google about when Hillsborough and Pinellas dropped their emissions testing...
The state adopted the inspection program in 1991 in six counties that did not meet federal clean air standards - Broward, Dade, Duval, Palm Beach, Pinellas and Hillsborough. The tests were administered by private vendors but overseen by the state Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
So I'd say you're probably safe.

You shouldn't worry about it if you're only going to be here for 11 months. In any case it doesn't matter. You're in the miltary and your state of residency is somewhere else. Don't sweat it at all. I was in NC and Seattle for extended periods of time and I was fine with my FL liscence.
