well, actually, according to ferdie the '06 dp is different so the exhaust is "NOT" easy to install without having a look at it first, so I can find the best way to "git er dun"... the wires... man I just don't know what i'm doing when it comes to electrical shat... knowing me i'll hook up the wipers to the headlights, and my ecu to my windows... I know lonely driver has a harness he wants to install, and ruben just bought some goodies too... Plus its always good to absorb some knowledge on working with our cars (well, for a n00b like me anyway)..

So what do you guys say?

According to ferdie, the dp has to clear a "bigger" tranny box. So it's tweaked over a little bit. Kind of like thelegacy? I think thats what ferdie said.. So, supposely the mid hanger is off and might need relocating, hence cutting and re-weld.. Something along those lines.. Plus I need to cut my diffuser a bit..

hmm... can't you just take the dp off in two pieces. I don't think you would need to cut anything out. Also it depends on the DP. I would think the people who made the DP would have seen that the brackets are in different places.

I didn't know the 06 STI tranny was bigger. then the 04-05 ones. What has changed in the 06's the caused the increase in size of tranny housing. I know that the USDM STI dp brackets are different then the USDM wrx ones(due to the size of the tranny housing)

What DP did you get? It's not an ebay one is it?

What DP did you get? It's not a ho-chi man one is it (aka: Ebay)
Well, see that's what I need to find out. My DP is stock. I got a catback... But all this is what ferdie was telling me. Hence the desire to put an install day together so juan of the guys can help me figure that out..

If you DP is stock then you should have no worries putting on a catback. That part is cake.
Why are messing with your DP tranny mounts if you're putting on a catback?

The catback is cake.

jack up the car line up the exhaust from the downpipe.
i think youll have an idea if it will clear or not.
you may want to pick up stiffer exhaust hangers, ie kartboy. get those from ferdie @ scs
i'll come down and help...i also have sway bars and shifter bushings to put in...
