I'd suggest Nokia for candy bars. Tetsu has a SLVR. I've use many GSM Motorola phones here at work. They're just crap. Interface is slow and annoying. But if you don't care for runtime, Motorola will do fine, I suppose. Sony Ericsson is coming out with a bunch of low cost candy bar phones. We have some of those pre-releases at work. They look great and reasonable and shouldn't cost a fortune to get. Wait a little longer and you should see.

It's free because it's a piece of crap. Sorry silent.. i have a passion to hate motorola for it's phones.. as much as i love using their mc68 chips. they're just too damn lazy to update their OS. Their problem is that they share the same os through out all of their phones.. they just recently came out with a razr v3xx which enabled the 3G technology... that phone is only a tad faster than it's sibblings razr v3x, v3i and v3.

actually, i'm getting pretty annoyed with my razr. when i'm backing out of certain menus embedded deep in the recesses of the phones filing system, its just really slow...

Luckily, i can trade for a new phone soon.

thanks for the input. i'm not a big fan of motorolas and definitely not a big fan of slow interfaces. i guess i'll just wait a bit longer. my contract expires around sept.
