it helps with downforce...to help air flow better to the spoiler

 

not sure if i like the wing on top of rear wing..
that's a spoiler.. not a vortex generator..

youre welcome, read the last part of the quote. vortex generator are not only for the undercarriage of a car. the 06 sti is wing is acting in the same manner as a vortec generator to smooth out the air coming off of the roof...
