A woman or ethnic man???

http://news.yahoo.com/elections

I would like to hear ppl opinion on some issues that are floating around. No one needs to mention who they would vote for, but it would be nice to hear opinion on politics. It seems to me that a lot of us dont have a lot of opportunity for any type of in depth conversation. I think it would be fun to get some constructive criticism going...

I have a feeling this thread will not hit 5 pages...haa haa haa

I'm not being a dick and trying to close this thread, but if you're serious, we have some pretty good discussions in the Politics area:

polls are decieving at times.. i haven't really looked at it, but i don't know if it mentions how many people or just percentage.. but 4 out of 10 people is a whopping 40%. i think there still to much of the old generation to accept the fact that someone other than a while american grown man would be the next president.

I'm trying to help you out, Niki. Maybe if you didn't take every response from a guy in a negative way, you'd see that. If you're truely interested in having an intellectual conversation about a certain topic, why not go to a part of the forum that's designated for it? There is a good amount of people that post in the politics area that are knowledgeable and care about the various topics. There are some very good discussions going on currently. Take a few minutes to read them and I'm sure you'll be impressed. Just watch out for HellaDumb, he's very conservative and an extreme right winger, but he stirs the pot a lot and gets people going. It's good stuff.

meh.. the more politics i look at the more mudslinging the more deception and the more corruption i see. before an election, its "lets go into used car salesman mode" and they try to gather votes. They hype the crowd they talk to blaming the opposing parties at hand for the major issues relating to the election. The main concern is, not one candidate has a fully proposed solution or a plan even. They address problems, pass blame around and thats it. Will they ever answer our questions completely, field our concerns and solve at least some major problems/issues? yes, no, maybe so?

ethnic, woman, caucasian, man, alien? I don't think it would be an extraordinary difference.

Yah I understand where you are coming from, but I cant help but feel that it is different.
Its pretty much a democratic running...republican representation is bah~ and I dont think anyone in history would have ever thought there would be a woman AND a African American man running...IN THE SAME ELECTION!!! We are definitely making history and turning heads. I dunno...its so exciting to me.

This is very true, and they both have a legitimate chance of winning, Hillary obviously having more. Ron Paul has my vote, though. Hillary's logic on crucial items is too flawed for me and I don't agree with Obama's gun control policy amongst other things. The fact that she is a woman and he is an African American don't bother me, frankly I think it's quite comendable of both of them for making it this far.

I've paid very little attention to this topic, but from the little I have seen, Obama seems to be a lot more composed about his topics, and in the 1 debate I watched, the only one who would answer the questions. Many of the other candidates, including Clinton, were always going around the answers trying to play towards the crowd instead of just answering it.

i kinda agree with silentkry, there will be some nut out there that wants to assassinate either candidate and get to say: "i killed the first black/woman president of the united states"
