Don't get me wrong, he's a great driver and most likely a great person.


But why does the Subaru community act as if McRae represents Subaru now? He hasn't represented Subaru in the WRC for almost 10 years.

Sure people can say X-games, but c'mon thats X-games, it's not even recognized in motorsports like drifting.

I like Colin McRae, he did wonders in the OG prodrive built Legacy and GC impreza. But he moved on to other makes and represented them. He was a great driver, crazy in fact, but I don't see the connection to Subaru since its been almost 10 years.

I like McRae, He was dope. Actually way more exciting in Ford if you ask me.


But I pose the question. Why capitalize on his death with stupid banners like that?

dude won a wrc champ title with a subaru,,,, so what if he's now a has-been competing on xgames or whatever, i'd say he's a legend in his own right. i mean the guy still has video games coming out with his name on it. sure he's no loeb or makinen but if u think subaru = WRC = nasicok = i-crap = and the gay people

I am saddened by our loss, but watching all the crap on nasioc is just blah!

 

So, like Michael Schumacher shouldn't be thought of as a F1 Ferrari driver because he is now retired and besides, once drove for another team???

Colin was paid to drive WRC 10 years ago and paid by Subaru the last two years to represent Subaru at the X games (which by the way, in one show exposed more U.S. viewers to the brand then the total time he drove for Subaru 10 years ago in the WRC).

Yes, he represents. Respect.

It's just not the Subaru community. SoCal EVO and Evolution M has threads about him too. Even some SoCal Import forums talk about him. But I can see why your "blah" about it.

 

Alot of people started off in gc's and learned about colin's wrc wins back when they first got a subaru. it's sick how he's been in x games in a suby repn in the states, so a lot of people only know him for that.

it doesn't matter if he drove for other manufacturers, he was one of us and people are giving their condolences and posting banners like that nasioc one to inform others and have everyone take a moment to remember him and the history of our cars.
