Thumbs up What's up guys...

Hey,

Had a great trip in your neck of the woods!

Just got back to Hawaii after visiting OC and San Diego doing the Disneyland thing with the family...discovered a few things while I was there...

1. Thank goodness for GPS systems! The lady at the car rental talked me into renting a....cough cough...mini van with DVD and GPS...she was a godsend...never used one before...Alaska and Hawaii both don't have GPS...

2. There weren't that many Impreza's out at first...I was really bummed...

Later, though, I started seeing a few...mostly black, wingless WRX's, Silver Wagons (one was getting a ticket on I-5)...and a Silver STI with a young lady driving it...

I went to the Oakley factory and saw quite a few "Tuner" type cars in that area...cool...blue wrx speeded by...worked at Oakley...

We have a pretty big, closely knit group of people in the Hawaii I-Club...Just thought I would say hi and that I wish I had my PSM 04 STI there with you guys...first thing I did when I got home was get in my car and take it for a cruise...mini van's....phew....hope I don't have too many of those kind of experiences....

Yeah...

saw them usually in the evening...by the way, I want to say that I did not see any Subaru owners speeding or driving recklessly in any way while I was there (the blue WRX at the Oakley factory was going pretty fast, but I think he was late to work)...goes to show everyone that the "Typical" Suby owner is much more responsible driver than most "Honda" types...

Actually, the knucklehead drivers seemed to all own BMW's...and a few mercedes...those people think they own the road...had a few idiots blow by me while I was going 70-75 keeping up with traffic on I-5...they must have easily been going over 100...

Heh heh...you sure you met her?

She was a "guest" on the Hawaii I-club section...bpang1 found her on some blog...and she was instantly oggled and perved on by all...until someone knew her and invited her to the board...yeah, we cleaned house real fast...heh heh.

Nah, Hilo is cool all my older relatives are over there...there are a ton of suby's here on Oahu...lot's of STI's as well...

When you guys come over...you gotta hook up with one of our weekly Thursday night meets at a Jamba/Starbucks get togethers around the island...just drop us a line on the board...hell, someone would probably pick you up if you don't have a ride...there are lots of cool people here...

BTW...that Oakley Factory was cool! Went in to get my lenses replaced and walked out with a new pair of sunglasses all for the price of the lense...$50! I have a pair of Half Wire 2.0s that I could not find anything for (gen. 1)...the guy there hooked me up!

naw werd I brought my RS back in 02 to Ohau awesome out there. Paid a pretty penny to get it over there but the stay for a month was worth it.

This was back before the nasioc/i-club split.

I intend on coming back and bringing my car again

I'll give you guys a warning

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Cali roads are not as good in general compared to roads in other states IMHO. Lots of bumps and bruises.

Kaneohe.. That name sounds familiar.. Actually, Sigma pi has that license plate frame on his car.

Kaneohe is...

what people see when they think of Hawaii...it's on the other side of the mountains from Honolulu...it's called the windward side of the island...very lush and tropical unlike the otherside which is very dry and desert like....

I've been driving my Acura these past few days while I await my new pads/lines/ and synth. fluid to arrive for my car...driving over the mountain and through one of several tunnels to work at 5am is awesome...

Tim

My son and daughter attend IKF (International Karate Federation) here...it's an awesome school with world champions residing as instructors...George Kotaka and Elisa Au...

I practiced Kendo when I was younger...

BTW...the roads here are not all too kind to our lowered cars...too many steep transitions and high sidewalks...be careful...

Not sure when you came over...

Sigma Pi...<shrug>...not sure why...we do have a meet every Thursday night at some Jamba/Starbucks...maybe it was a bad time for everyone...maybe a different core group...I don't get to that many meets myself due to obligations to my kids and their activities...the ones I go to are pretty cool...someone usually has a video or two of the recent autoX or something...people have their hoods popped up showing their recent mod...we have lots of informal install days...

Next time one of you guys come over...Jump on the Hawaii Section, introduce yourself, look at where the next Thursday meet is and come on down...ask for directions and you shall receive it...

I'm not a very good host myself for the reason I stated above...bu there are really cool guys here.

Hawaii is good, I miss the seasons...everything is always green or brown...I guess I can't complain...

Gas is about $3.00 for reg, $3.15 premium (92 octane) at Costco...add $.30 a gallon anywhere else...

Real Estate is premium here...cost of living isn't bad...come in the off season and the hotels are like half price...just like anywhere else...
