Where are you from? What do you want to do? Is your gf coming down with you? How much you want to spend?

i was just in SD last week on a business trip.

If you are ever in the carlsbad area make sure you go on pch and visit Harbor fish and chips. The BEST fish and chips place i have ever been to.

If you have never been to TJ then i would suggest going. It was pretty cool.

Some of the socal suby guys suggested an Auto museum in the LA area it looks pretty cool, but i didnt get a chance to go.

Riverside is kind of desolate and very hot (I went to school there for several years).

You could head out to the Cabazon outlets and then the Morongo casino afterwards which is only a few minutes away from the outlet.

try Adams go-kart, its located in Riverside. It's outdoors, very fast. Although business isn't as good nowadays.

either that or hit up the usual Six Flags, Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, or Disneyland theme parks.

Or maybe Medieval Times, SD Wild Animal Park, SD Zoo, Sea World.

Although that takes you out of the "not too expensive" areas

You could also try the Grove, City Walk, Irvine Spectrum
