OCTFCU has been solid for me for the past 8 years.

i also recently opened an ING savings account this past month, i have a certain amount taken out of my page check bi-monthly. the plan is not to touch any of this money so hopefully i won't run into any problems with the account.

ive been banking with wamu for 4 yrs now. i havent been much of a happy camper. their online banking doesnt even work for me...for some reason my account cant be access online...even though i've gone through it with 3 customer reps...and that whole charging to use others atm and not charge others for using wamus is dumb...

the only reason why i still have an account with them is cause they are rite next door to me...

a lot of people charge when u use someone else's ATM. i guess wamu changed that...they used to not charge. i still like em cuz i've had 0 problems witih them, and for the most part, online is the only way i check my account balance

i think every bank does that. the atm machine itself charges a fee and your own bank charges a fee also. unless you're using your own bank's atm.

i get cashback at the grocery store if i want to avoid fees

Wells Fargo did that? That's pretty cool. I almost wish I had fees so that I can have them reversed, hah.

I have a student checking account at Wells Fargo, which has no fee as long as you're an active student. I also get free checks.

My savings account is also free, provided I keep over $300 in it - not bad.

Wells Fargo also handles my Roth IRA and some of my other investments.

Credit Unions are always the best but not the most convenient. I went from BofA to WaMu to Premier America CU.

I'm thinking about it.

I'm also thinking about switching my chase credit card for a chase subaru card. They said they would do it, but I'm waiting till my 0 interest period is over and I hope the subaru card doesnt have a higer interest rate.

or just threaten to change banks unless they apply those freebies? i don't think they would offer the deal to previous customers.

i've used over $1000 subaru bucks to date

16+% apr. but i always pay in full.
