Unfortunately all of the Japanese restaurants I know of are in SF Japantown or Sj Japantown. I do remember that there is a yakiniku place in SJ Japan town. It's right next to Nikaku Arts and Crafts (also a manga and anime store). I always avoided eating there because it was expensive.

I've always wanted to go to Yoshis in Berkeley since they have Jazz bands playing there.
