OEM filter have gone smaller and smaller due to the fact that the oil filter is right next to the manifold.
so subaru have made the filter smaller to prevent filter and oil from heating up too much.
so the newer generation filter they made it smaller
but both bigger and smaller filter will work..
mike can i get 2 small ones.. and some crush ring..
i'll trade you for packs of smoke...??

The 080 filter has a 68mm diameter, 2 7/16" tall.
The 060 filter has an 80mm diameter, 2 3/4" tall.
all Subaru Turbo's from 2002 - on
should begin to use the 15208AA080 (black)
as a replacement oil filter.
yes, all 2.0 and 2.5L TURBO's
but....
if you have used or
have purchased the AA060 (white) oil filter -
that is okay!!
You will NOT hurt your car. It's perfectly fine to use the 060
so please, do not panic. Your car will function just fine
with the 060 in place - NO WORRIES
