Strange.

So i'm looking at my directors car. It's a MBZ C350.... Brand new...

There is more brake dust on the rear tires than in the front. Isn't it usually the other way around. This looks like most of his braking power is in the rear??

Nah this was last week, no rain... it was weird. His fronts were almost spotless. I asked if he washed just the front he said no.

No idea, one of the other directors was saying how on some German cars nowadays, when the sensors detect rain, the car automatically uses the rear brakes more in addition to the fronts so that you have more stopping power. Then again, I noticed this before it was raining. Then there was a notion that maybe the rears have a different compound. I dunno, i'm sure the car is fine, he says he doesn't notice any changes in driving or breaking. I just thought it was totally backwards

MB has gone back to an organic based compound for the rear brake pads because they have been having squeek issues with the semi mets and ceramic pads. it has something to do with the new caliper design and how it does not fully retract back. BMW has also done this on the E93 chassis.

Another thing too is MB cars now have brake assist and it applys more rear brake than front when your light ont he pedal so the car will squat and not thrust forward. But when you stomp on the pedal it will act like a regular panic stop. It's their way of making a dumb driver who can't modulate the brake pedal during slow stops and to prevent the neck whip action.
