sti downpipe question
i have a regular suby right now, if i get this part of an sti will it make a big hp difference in comparisson to an after market up and dp?
If I am correct, there is no difference between the WRX DP and the STi DP. Basically the same. They are both catted, and they both have the same flange at the turbo. I don't think that the ID is diffent either.

I wouldn't want to have the EGT sensor bung for my uppipe. I actually took a bolt and plugged up my EGT sensor bung on my Helix catless uppipe and used a resistor instead of the EGT sensor. That EGT is not needed once you remove the cat. That EGT was designed so that your ecu can detect when the engine spits flames. Flames in a catted uppipe will allow the cat to actually break away into the turbo. Other than for that reason, you do not need the EGT sensor or the EGT sensor bung.

There are two types of EGT probes. The one that comes stock in the uppipe only detects if the temperature is too high for the catalytic converter in the uppipe. You would want to have one in your exhaust manifold that detects the EGT so that you don't start melting the block and internals. There is no use for the EGT in the uppipe once you remove the cat. However, you would want one in the exhaust manifold for tuning.
