I feel really bad for the S2K that got hit. That was avoidable.
dude, that S2K thing was completly avoidable... iono why ppl were so dumb that day... i've never seen so many guys going off track on a non drift event...

The bottom line is when you sign up for these events its a risk and you do sign away any liability. The S2k owner was probably some cheap *** who doesn't know any better. I do feel bad for the guy in the EVO, we towed his car back to our friends shop and from looking at the damage, it can be salvaged but never be the same. Which is a shame since that EVO was hella fast.

Sorry I did not get to meet any of you out there. I wasn't quite sure who was who. The only person I recognized was Ferdie because of his car and dunnojack because I have seen him run at numerous recent events.
It was a GOOD, not great event compared to SpeedTrial standards. They run a great event but this one seemed far more reckless than most. I ran in the fast intermediate "C" group and there were countless idiots out there. I was passed TWICE under yellow and I can't even count how many cars dove inside me on the checkered flag cool down lap. Unexperienced people simply not paying attention.
Which brings up the wreck. Honestly, I felt bad for both drivers. Yeah the S2K driver probably should not have been in advanced being it was not his car and first time on that track, BUT, he did what most of us have probably done before. He spun. Two other cars that were right behind him (one being an instructor) avoided him because they were watching the corner worker who threw the flag as soon as the S2K started to spin. Then, along comes the Evo. He said himself that he entered the dust cloud in Magic Mtn. at 20-25 mph. Why??? Totally uncalled for speed into poor visibility and on a practically blind corner! It does suck that tyhe S2K guy is trying to lawyer up and the Evo guy seemed like he tried numerous times to offer any help. In the end, yes, tracking is at your own risk. Also, hats off to you guys for helping a fellow racer out with towing. Hopefully I can meet some of you at a future event.
