the problem is.. socal 91 still pings... due to OL/CL issues around 5kRPM
and that's mainly due to timing issue and ECU programming

Im getting pinging with my AP (tried latest maps and california specific), maybe it is just my car. It also seems to be worse with certain brands of gas. I havent tried higher octane to see if that gets rid of the problem.

Actually, I think he looks quite monstrous there. Monstrous and powerful.
This is exactly what I had in mind! It totally portrays his personality.
So powerful, so confident.

Im running stage 1 91 oct. I seem to get less noticable ping with stage 1 91 oct than with the stage 1 91 oct cal map. I need to put it back to stock to see if that resolves my pinging. The only "mod" I have on my car is AP.

Some gas seems to ping more than others on my car. Ive used 76 gas most of the time until it started pinging with it. Now I sometimes use chevron.

anyone want to guide me on how to replace spark plug..
i'm probabily going to get some colder plug to see if that will ease off on the pinging.

Since stupid kalifornia.. don't have 93 .. i guess i will just have to do some mixing with racing fuel.. 105
luckly there is a shell gas station near my work that has race fuel.
You are talking Sti specs here. If you read the owners manual, it says under recommended fuel that the Sti has is 93 octane. The WRX recommended is 91 octane. However, 91 can be substituted for the Sti and 87 can be substituted for the WRX. Why waste the money on something that you really don't need for the car. Why buy race fuel? Just get 91 octane if you really want to see the car perform at optimum as they say. heck, you can even try 89 if you want.

Soooo do you have any new mods that significantly increase hp? Chip, turbo, hi flo fuel pump/injectors, etc...

Tim
