Slotted rotors.

Here is a question for the professional.
When you install cross slotted rotors does direction matter?
I remember hearding on tv that when installing slotted rotors you want the slots to point forward so you maximize the cooling.

on this car the slots are pointing backward.?

Lol, I just read a tech article on this in R&T. They said the outer slotting doesn't matter, but it's the veins between the rotors that matter.

Edit: exact quote straight from R&T.

What's important is not the direction of the slots on the outside of the rotor, but the direction of the cooling vanes inside the rotor. The cooling vanes are designed to accept cooling air at the inner edge of the rotor and pump it out through the outer circumference of the rotor. These internal directional vanes should lean backward, facing the rear of the car.
Slots on the surface of the rotor can lean either way and work fine. They are leaned for styling and to distribute whatever load their thinness may impose across the most internal structure of the rotor (in other words, opposite the internal directional vanes).
Baer Brakes arranges it's rotors so the external slots lean to the front of the car, except for some early rotors, with slots leaning the other way.

I think the different manufacturers have different opinions. I think it best to follow the recommendation for the rotors you get. My Powerslot rotors indicate on them right and left.

i heard slotting is useless for OE sized since it reduces brake mass. shouldn't slot em till you get a BBK
